A hundred years ago a ghost family lived in the cellar of an enormous castle. In this family were a mama, papa, and baby. The baby's name was Godfrey. While still in his cradle, his papa began to teach Godfrey ghost sounds and terrible clanking noises. The little ghost listened carefully, but it was very difficult for him to make a loud noise—the most he could manage was a squeak like a mouse. As Godfrey grew up he was a great help to his mother with daily chores. His papa thought it was very strange that Godfrey would rather do this than practice becoming a ghost.
