Genesis Tillman is used to men pining over her. Chasing a man or begging for attention is something that she's never had to do, but when it comes to Prospect, she finds herself acting out of character quite often. The generous, handsome, and sometimes romantic thug tugs at her heart strings and makes her fall for him hard. However, it seems that every time she feels herself getting a little closer to him, his quick temper and violent streak push her away. Genesis can admit that she has it bad for Prospect, but she also knows that loving him might not be the best thing for her. Love is new to Prospect. Growing up around his parents' dysfunctional marriage plays a huge part in how Prospect treats Genesis. Common sense tells him that he's not treating her the way he should, but between Anastasia's betrayal, a devastating loss, and a snake among his crew, Prospect has a lot on his plate, and he takes it out on the one person that he shouldn't. Bellina loves Poppa, her incarcerated boyfriend, but after two years of being alone, she finds herself growing weaker and weaker when it comes to resisting temptation. Jonah is just the breath of fresh air that she needs in a new city where she barely knows anyone, but she soon learns that Poppa may not have the hold on her heart that she thought he did.
