Lucas goes by the artist name @TheFreschKlesch and has been active in Portland for twenty plus years. He began his journey as an artist the makers way, where from the young age of seven, he learned photography from his father as his apprentice in the darkroom. When he turned ten years old, his beatnik grandma introduced him to coffee and poetry as a birthright. Over the years of writing poetry, he learned how his heritage of Emily Dickinson and Dylan Thomas played itself out in his own poetry. He balanced these artistic talents with practical study as a climate scientist, where he has fought most of his adult life for a sea change in human thinking through applied climate solutions. When his daughter was born, he took up abstract painting, and has art focussed the last ten years on a style of modern art which carries quantum messages left over from the universes formation. In his mid twenties, he embraced the Bukowski life and the dive bar alternative culture of Portland. This in depth plunge into alt culture gave rise to his first three poetry books, a pioneering genre of photography entitled Twisted Pinups, and a can claim to be one of the mythical initial twenty Timbers Army members who revolutionized futbol supporters in America. He currently lives in Multnomah Village in Portland Oregon with his teenage daughter in a carbon neutral live/work studio where he is working on several photography books, a couple new poetry books, and his first literature book.
