Lynn Daley is a mother, writer, entrepreneur, and world traveller who explores themes of cultural identity and diversity in her work. Writing her forthcoming historical romance, Secrets of the Wisteria Tree, helped her reconnect with her own Mi’kmaq ancestors and reclaim her Indigenous heritage. She holds a journalism diploma from the College of the North Atlantic, a bachelor's degree in community studies from Cape Breton University, and post-graduate certificates in creative writing and book publishing. She also is a certified yoga instructor and has visited nine countries in her quest to acquire knowledge and immerse herself in other cultures. Prior to becoming a full-time writer, she taught English in Japan for a year and owned and operated two successful restaurants in Canada. She stepped away from the restaurant business to pursue having a child on her own. Being a mother as well as a businesswoman has added depth and perspective to her writing, as well as amplified her understanding of how her current actions shape her child’s future. When not spending time with her spirited toddler and equally energetic German Shepard, she enjoys spending time in her garden, sampling fine food and wine, and relaxing with a good book.
