Dutch journalist and author. M.J. Brusse wrote the popular column 'Onder de menschen' for the Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant. The most succesful was Boefje (1903), based on experiences with administration of justice and probation. It was reprinted many times and as a play it was performed over a thousand times. Boefje was also made into a film.
