Born in Kathmandu, Nepal, M.K. Shivakoti came to the United States when he was nineteen. Over the years, he has worked as a sixth grade teacher, a salesman, a receptionist, a data analyst, and a predictive modeler in a corporate office, where he tried his best to not make stuff up. (Now a fiction writer, the irony isn't lost on him.) Drawn by the eclectic, he tends to blend genres in his writing, especially mystery, adventure, and fantasy. He is a strong proponent of diverse protagonists in commercial fiction. He lives in Chicago with his beautiful wife and his son.
