We all contain mages and monsters within. As they faced and defeated Emissary Salya, Tristan Montague and Simon Strong found a path to increase their power. Monty must now go home. Home to Shadowpeak, the ancestral home of the Montagues—a location which has been cloaked in mystery and death for centuries. Shadowpeak, which is currently protected by Guardian Monks from the Order of the Sky, has killed every Montague Mage that has set foot on the property in the last three centuries. Until now. When the mutilated bodies of the Guardian Monks are discovered, word is sent to the remaining living members of the Montagues. Each Guardian Monk was the victim of high-level magic. A level of magic that hasn’t existed at Shadowpeak in centuries. Now, Monty and Simon will venture to Shadowpeak, discover how the Guardian Monks died and who, or what, killed them. What they discover will challenge every belief they hold regarding magic and those who wield it.
