Life had kicked my ass and threw me around a little bit. It made me jaded. Mean. A grade-A asshole. And losing my job as the starting catcher for the Atlanta Kings was the icing on the cake. Now I was stuck in Miami all winter playing baseball with a bunch of misfits not even Santa could save. I wasn’t where I wanted to be. But I didn’t know where I wanted to go.
