Marin Wyden was educated as a Software Engineer and spend the early years of his life writing code, rather than fiction. In 2012, he decided to quit his job for sector related reasons and try his hand at writing a full blown novel. The outlines of Elements of the Æther had been spinning in his head for a while by then, and the desire to create an entire world—combined with ample free time—let to the creation of Shadow of the Candle in 2013. Fire and Dust in 2014, and Born under Bone in 2015.
