Aruli is ready to bite her human in the leg. Hard. They've been traveling for years, and the miniature dragon understands why—fresh air and elbow space is more common on open roads than in cities. But as they luck out and attend a feast (and she devours deliciously spiced meats), Aruli believes life could be better if she and Emry finally find a place to call home. No waking up wet thanks to storms, no foraging for food and still being hungry. The missing piece of this equation is Emry agreeing. Enter the Dragon! (And the settlement he lives in) Which might be easier to get than she thinks the longer they stay in Ivy Falls. Great location, close to nature, a delightful community from all corners of the world. There's even a potential partner for Emry—Reidholm seems very interested in filling that role (and she excels at picking up on that sort of thing). The dragonman is kind, intelligent, easy-going, and has plenty of muscles to fill out his scales—most of the things Emry looks for when he goes off on his solo adventures. (Not that she's followed him. Well, maybe just once to make sure he wasn't getting into trouble, but as soon as she saw the direction of that meeting she'd left them alone to enjoy each other.) The biggest problem is Emry himself. He's completely (deliberately?) oblivious to every clue, no matter who they're coming from, and at this point Aruli is tempted to throw Reid onto her human, lock them in an abandoned building, and trust they can figure it out on their own. However, with the obvious exception of hoping for a miracle, there's really only a single option remaining. Be the matchmaker Emry needs, not the one he deserves. Will Aruli push Emry into fleeing? Or will her manipulations result in a happily-ever-after match? gay Emry, gay Reid, matchmaker dragon, accidental declaration(s) of love and other affirmations, only one bed, nursing the sick, caught in the rain, interspecies romance, coziness, oblivious to love Emry, (beyond) patient & caring Reid, finding a place to call home
