A new series begins as Max Silver, an ordinary kid, touches some radioactive space rocks in a museum, and becomes a superhero called Maximum Kid. Max's sister is jealous of the attention he gets. His father is determined to beat him at arm wrestling, his mother wants him to go to bed on time—and the President asks Max to save Manhattan.

Max must battle the terrifying Tastemaker, a deranged chef who has figured out a way to disengage people's taste buds, causing everything they eat to taste like broccoli.

All she seems to care about is her costume, her cool name, and whether her superpowers can make her more popular. Max knows she's putting the whole family in jeopardy by risking exposure. But Tiffany just can't resist showing off for her friends...and beating the school record for the high jump.

When a practical jokester taunts those on earth with his evil ways, Maximum Boy and Maximum Girl are ready to defend their planet by venturing into outer space to stop his pranks for good, but not without a few obstacles along the way.
