
Singer-songwriter and actress Meg Flather is a Backstage Bistro Award-winning performer and has garnered glowing reviews from top New York City publications. As a singer-songwriter, Meg was a featured performer for the Gay Men's Health Crisis at New York's historic Webster Hall, the 2002 Vermont Film Festival and the 2003 and 2004 Tribeca Film and Family Festivals. Meg's songs are showcased in the independent film, Nobody's perfect, which screened at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival, Off-Broadway's Acts of Love, Juilliard graduate thesis film Betty on the Bed and a multi-media project dedicated to mental illness and teen suicide prevention, A Secret Best Not Kept. Meg has also written songs for Alzheimer's and Autism awareness. Meg has made television commercials, corporate films and as a skin health and beauty expert has appeared on HSN, SHOP NBC, The Discovery Channel and TBSN of Australia. She is proud to be the brand ambassador for StriVectin on QVC, USA and on The Shopping Channel of Canada. She celebrates her 12th year with PERLIER on The Shopping Channel of Canada as well. Meg trademarked the name, Home Shopping Diva and her one woman show titles, Home Shopping Diva, was one of Times Square Chronicles Online reviewer Stephen Hanks' Top 10 favorite cabaret shows of 2011. Meg's background is as diverse as the many hats she likes to wear. Born in the Philippines as the youngest daughter of two Peace Corps parents, she spent her first five years in Micronesia and Malaysia. She then moved to the suburbs of Massachusetts and eventually settled in New York City where she attended the High School of Music and Art in Harlem. Meg attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, but finished her degree at SUNY. Meg devoted several years to volunteering with AIDS and cancer patients through the Supportive Care Program at St. Vincent's Hospital. In December 2013, Meg performed her music to benefit the victims of Typhoon Yoanda at the Philippine Consulate General in New York City.
