Mehmet Agop was born and grew up in Turkey. He is half Turkish-Cypriot, half English. Educated in Turkey and USA, he has travelled extensively around the world, and has worked in Canada, Ghana, Ethiopia, and the UK. He currently works as a technology consultant and lives in London. The Masquerade of Istanbul is his first novel.
