I was born in New York City, grew up on Long Island, N.Y. and have been a resident of California since 1967. I attended Occidental College and Loyola University School of Law. I am admitted to practice in California, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and in the U.S. Supreme Court. For most of my legal career, from1975 to 2006, I was employed as a deputy and assistant district attorney with the Orange County District Attorney's Office. During my career I was assigned to nearly all of the vertical trial teams and worked for 13 years in the Homicide Unit which I supervised for three. In 1996, my efforts led to the creation an unsolved homicide project "TRACKRS." The project's initial investigation solved six homicides from the 1970s and resulted in the exoneration of a man wrongly convicted of one of them. I retired from the District Attorney's Office in 2006 and presently am engaged in private civil practice.
