Michael J. McLaughlin, MD, is an author, entrepreneur, and former surgeon. He received degrees from Harvard College and Columbia University. After four years as a plastic surgeon and hand specialist, he transitioned to a nonclinical career and then co-founded Peloton Advantage, an industry leading medical communications company. He founded Physician Renaissance Network (PRNresource.com), a free resource for doctors with nonclinical careers and interests, and frequently lectures on physician career change, nonclinical careers, entrepreneurism, and networking. In 2009 he was selected as a leading Change Agent among PharmaVOICE's Top 100 Most Inspiring People. His writing includes the career change book, "Do You Feel Like You Wasted All That Training?" and the suspense novels, "Extinction," "Fugue," "The Satin Strangler Blogs," and "Woods."
