I grew up in the Boston area; lost my Boston accent at 20, graduated from College in '83, worked at a bookstore in Cambridge, MA for a year (read philosophy on the T a lot), went to grad school at Georgetown, met Kathleen, my beautiful, smart friend who became my spouse, had four kids, learned to teach at a private school, and then, slowly, painfully, learned to write and publish fiction, all the while trying not to forget the most important things in life are friendships, family, and faith.
