Hi there, Welcome to my Goodreads page. After trying a number of careers, including law and journalism, selling frozen food and working as a tea-taster's assistant (I had to follow him with a spittoon), I became an actor and teacher. I trained for the stage at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and under my Equity name worked for many years as an actor and voice-over artist. My career also encompassed teaching actors and directing. I am a Drama in Education specialist and hold an advanced qualification in the teaching of drama: the A.D.B. (Ed). I also have a Diploma in Education and an M.A. (with distinction) in Educational Studies. But I'm more than just a bundle of qualifications. I have a great interest in politics and current affairs and enjoy ventilating my idealistic discontent over a bottle of red wine. Although originally a Londoner, I love walking with my wife through the glorious countryside of my adopted home, Yorkshire, especially by the sea; and afterwards, quenching my thirst with a glass of authentic ale. Theatre and film are also a passion. Throughout my working life I have always set aside time for writing. I now write full-time. My police procedural ‘A Single to Filey’ was an Amazon bestseller, and I published the eBook of my latest novel, 'The Girl in the Gypsey Race' in December 2023, and the paperback in January 2024. I am the author of: Magnificent Britain (2012) Julia's Room (2012) Learning Lines? A Practical Guide for Drama Students and Aspiring Actors (2014) A Single to Filey (A DCI Tony Forward Novel) (2015) Leefdale (2018) The Girl in the Gypsey Race (A DCI Tony Forward Novel) eBook 2023. Paperback 2024.
