Michael Westover is a writer, speaker, health care industry executive and graduate of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Westover’s website, Echoes of Meaning, is a collection of more than 30 articles about human connection, including articles on family, business, religion, and self-improvement. Many of his pieces attempt to look at ancient truths from new angles to make them applicable to modern life. A devout reader of psychology, philosophy, history, and religion, Westover found himself wondering what exactly makes a life worthwhile and why. Using his health care expertise, life experience, and fine-tuned analytical skills, Westover embarked on an investigatory journey into the topics of meaning and purpose. What he uncovered significantly changed the way he lives his life. Michael’s experiences have taken him all around the world—from a young surfer in Los Angeles to missionary in Brazil to a health care innovator in Boston. He is currently a vice president with Providence Health & Services and writes about the American health care system and patient care in addition to his work on relationships and meaning. Westover lives in Washington State with his wife and five children. He is dedicated to his business clients and to his local community, all of which serve as inspiration to living a life with meaning. When he is not writing, you can find him coaching one of his kids’ teams, hiking in the Columbia River Gorge, or wakeboarding when it’s nice outside and snowboarding when it’s not.
