Michele Battiste is the author of Ink for an Odd Cartography (Black Lawrence Press, 2009). She is also the author of two chapbooks: Slow the Appetite Down (Spire Press, 2009) and Raising Petra (Pudding House, 2007). She is the recipient of grants and awards from Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Memorial Fund, Poets & Writers, the Jerome Foundation, the Academy of American Poets, and AWP. A New York native, Michele currently lives in Boulder, Colorado where she teaches, pursues a PhD in Literature, and keeps an eye out for foxes, deer, moose and bears.
