Michelle Salter is a historical crime fiction writer based in Hampshire, United Kingdom. Many of her books are set in the area where she lives and are inspired by real-life events in 1920s Britain. She also has connections to Devon, and her latest novel, A Killing at Smugglers Cove, is set in Dawlish and Exeter. Michelle brings a love of social history to her novels, which reflect how issues of 100 years ago are not so different from the challenges we face today. When she’s not writing, Michelle can be found knee-deep in mud at her local nature reserve. She enjoys working with a team of volunteers undertaking conservation activities on land and in water, repairing riverbanks, sloshing around in the marshes, and driving a tractor badly. If you've read one of Michelle's books, please consider leaving a review. Just a few words on how it made you feel would be great. 'If you enjoy 1920s mysteries…I highly recommend Death at Crookham Hall.' Verity Bright, bestselling author of the Lady Eleanor Swift mysteries. 'Death at Crookham Hall is a lovely murder mystery by a gifted writer.' Helena Dixon, bestselling author of the Miss Underhay mysteries. 'She’s a free-thinking, trouser-wearing, independent woman who lives her life unapologetically and in spite of the social norms of the day.' Reader review of the Iris Woodmore mysteries.
