Sam Burke is a candymaker and a mage. He has had ten years to get his ex, and fellow mage, Bret Fields out of his mind. When Bret sets up a candy shop right across the street from Sam's family candy shop, Sam sees red. Bret makes it clear right away that he wants back into Sam's life, no matter what.
