During his thirty-year career, San Jose Police Detective Charles Strider struggled emotionally with the unsolved murder of Margaret Miller, his first case as a patrolman. Nearing retirement, he is assigned to the Homicide Unit where he and his partner, Detective Dawn Stern, reopen the cold case.
