Mitch Silver was born in Brooklyn and grew up on Long Island. He received a B.A. in history from Yale and briefly attended Harvard Law School. He later became an advertising writer for several of the big New York agencies. Mitch and his wife Ellen live in Greenwich, Connecticut and have two grown children.
