Part of Series

The tale of a girl and her mecha. Freya works the fields of her parents' farm with the help of Mohi, a semi-intelligent robot. Once, Mohi fought in the war against the mysterious Xenos, but that's all over now. Nothing exciting's ever going to happen on the colony world of Neper again, no matter how much Freya wishes something would. But then she gets her wish, and it changes everything. She will finally get her excitement, will finally be the hero, but the cost may be more than she can bear. "Mojito Doomsday" is a YA science-fiction short story set in the universe of Jonathan L. Howard's Russalka Chronicles, as featured in the novels KATYA's WORLD and KATYA'S WAR. It is self-contained and requires no knowledge of the novels.
