I thought I was applying for a job. Turns out, I was offering myself... body, voice, control. Mr. Cross didn’t want a résumé. He wanted obedience. He wanted my knees on the floor, my wrists bound above my head, my breath caught in a gag while I begged for release I wasn’t allowed to earn. I should’ve walked away. But I didn’t. I stayed. I listened. I obeyed. And with every rule he gave me, I surrendered a little more. Now I don’t just work for him. I kneel for him. I ache for him. And I finally feel whole.
