For as long as I can remember, I've made up stories. My early efforts featured my favourite book and TV characters. I had a taste for the dramatic even then which has carried over into my adult work. I like to think that my books are universal and can be read by anyone, no matter their age or taste. People often ask me why I write fantasy, and I always give the same answer. There are no rules. Anything is allowed, as long as it's believable. If the characters behave in a way people can relate to, it doesn't matter what their situation is. Historical Fiction, too, is a fascinating genre to write, particularly when combined with my love of Folklore. I chose to go down the Self-publishing route as that gave me full control over everything: content, edits, appearance and marketing. The biggest wonder of my life is how I'm able to write a 200 plus page book but find it impossible to come up with two sentences for a birthday card. Away from writing, I love playing the piano for pleasure. I love long walks, the theatre and cooking, and of course, I am a self-confessed bookworm.
