Neil Chambers is at the forefront of the green industry. Chambers Design Inc. demonstrates expertise in green building, environmental policy, nonprofits, renewable energy, habitat restoration, energy design, LEED consulting, and media. He has served as an adjunct professor at New York University, teaching green design and environmental policy. He was instrumental in developing a Sustainable Design Entrepreneur certificate program at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. He serves on the NYU Sustainability Task Force, and is Chair of the Environmental Committee for Democratic Leadership for the 21st Century (DL21C). He is a national fellow with the Environmental Leadership Program, which brings leaders within the environmental movement together from around the United States to build leadership skills and foster the next generation of eco-visionaries, and founded Green Ground Zero (GGZ) in 2002, a nonprofit organization, advocating the green redevelopment of Lower Manhattan after the September 11, 2001, attacks. Chambers speaks regularly at conferences, universities and other groups. Past speaking events have been held at Columbia University; World Urban Forum in Barcelona, Spain; New York University; the United Nations Summit in Indonesia; the World Congress of Architecture in Istanbul, Turkey; U.S. Green Building Council Annual Conference; and the Columbia Business School Net Impact Conference.
