Stephen Baxter’s bestselling novel, Anti-Ice, is a drama of a different nineteenth century. First published in 1993 as an alternate history, it was quickly embraced by the emerging steampunk genre. Now with Newton’s Aliens, he has created one piece continuing the novel’s timeline, and two other pieces exploring an alternative version of that universe: an alternate history of an alternate history. Previously collected only in a limited edition, these three stories expand the Anti-Ice world and stretch the imagination. Stephen Baxter is the pre-eminent sf writer of his generation. Published around the world, he has also won major awards in the US, UK, Germany and Japan. Born in 1957, he has degrees from Cambridge and Southampton. He lives in Northumberland, England with his wife.
