When spirited Samantha Sockwell's first spots handsome Joshua Ross, it's obvious he's down in the dumps. Sam can't stand to see anybody so unhappy, and she decides she's just the one to take Josh's thoughts off his old girlfriend, Monica. The trouble is, Sam can't get Josh to notice her—in spite of her wild clothes, bells in her hair, and the hilarious cartoons she draws of him. So she tries a new strategy—she trades in her usual personality for one she thinks Josh will like better. But when Josh discovers her scheme, she's afraid he's lost to her for good.
