Amado Nervo y Ordaz era el seudónimo de Juan Crisóstomo Ruiz de Nervo y Ordaz, poeta y prosista mexicano, perteneciente al movimiento modernista. Nació el 27 de agosto de 1870 en la ciudad de Tepic, en ese entonces en Jalisco, hoy Nayarit, y murió en Montevideo, Uruguay el 24 de mayo de 1919. Fue miembro correspondiente de la Academia Mexicana, no pudo ser miembro de número por residir en el extranjero.
