Christian, a popular romance writer, has created the perfect man. He's given the world Lord John Loring, a dashing roguish hero who has so consumed Christian's thoughts and time that his wife left him, claiming she couldn’t compete with his swashbuckling fantasy man. Christian couldn’t argue with her. After all, wasn’t an author supposed to love his characters? But when he advertises for a housemate to share expenses, his new roommate turns out to have the same name as his literary creation.
