I am the author of five novels, four as part of a Victorian Detective Mystery series. At the SIgn of the Painted Moon is a standalone collection of stories tracing the history of a fictional smuggler's inn on the North Yorkshire coast. Part family mystery, part romance, it follows the adventures of a young American woman as she pieces together the connection between her father and a famous silent movie siren, along the way finding a family she never knew she had. The Smollett, Wolfstein and Bonney series of Victorian mysteries consists of four novels (soon to be five!) that can be read either as a series or as standalone mysteries. Featuring a young woman - one of the first female detectives - as its main protagonist, the novels deal with themes of family, madness and the abuse of power in Victorian society.
