Cody Wallace is pretty used to the pain of his heats. He doesn’t have the option to not work or play through them and his inhibitors keep him from losing his mind, so he grits his teeth and bears it until his heat has run its course. Besides, the press—and many hockey fans—don’t care for an omega in the NHL. So Cody has to be the bigger person. Always. At least the guys on Cody’s team, the Detroit Cougars, have never treated him any differently for being an omega. Even when Cody was a rookie, the Cougars had been welcoming. Especially Leo Blanter, the captain of the Cougars. Leo has such a calming presence and is so free with his praise and he’s always looking out for Cody. Cody counts himself lucky that they’re such good friends. When Cody’s heat comes early during an away game, he takes his inhibitors and plays the game like normal. But the heat pain following the game is unlike anything he’s ever experienced before. And a terrified Cody doesn't know if he can weather this heat on his own. The Hockey Heats series are omegaverse books that do not contain mpreg.
