Everyone remembers where they were when Washington D.C. was destroyed. Cecelia "Cash" Turner wishes she could go back to the days before The United States ceased to exist. Before, the once proud nation was split into two entirely new countries. Before a man called The Southern Leader took over her homeland, announced that "radical thinking" caused America's downfall and, in response, outlawed participation in the arts. Almost instantly, Cash's world is turned upside down, and she spends her nights delivering illegal music, movies, and books to those willing to pay, all while dodging The Southern Leader's ruthless police force and endlessly hoping for change she fears may never come. Then suddenly, two of The Southern Leader's men are mysteriously murdered, a strange symbol begins to appear seemingly everywhere, and whispers of rebellion start to arise all throughout her home country. Armed with her friends by her side, Cash dives headfirst into a journey for answers of who is behind it all, leading her into the depths of a dangerous fight for freedom she never dreamed possible.
