An invitation to my 25th high school reunion thrust me back into a whirlwind of memories from when I was eighteen years-old. Yet, one moment eclipsed them the one time I ever did anything with another guy. It was the early summer of '99, and just a week before graduation, when I ran into Brian at a frat party. We were both eighteen and had no business being at a college party. Other than the fact that I'd seen him in the hallways a few times and we'd shared a couple of classes, I didn't know Brian at all. When the party started getting a little too wild, Brian invited me back to his empty house to hang out. That's when he told me that he was gay. I wasn't sure how to react, but Brian was relieved to learn that it didn't bother me. In fact, I was 'curious' more than anything else. Before I knew it, I found myself very curious about what it might be like to do something—not just with another guy, but with Brian. Turns out, Brian had been eyeing me for some time, and he was more than willing to do whatever I was 'curious' to do. In the heat of that wild night, we ended up tangled, sweaty and sore in his pool-house, with mere curiosity giving me the most unexpected—and unthinkable—night of my life.
