You look to your left and notice the scalpel lying on the palm of the scrub nurse's outstretched hand. You grab the scalpel and feel its cold metal against your glove. You then lower your hand and place the scalpel on the incision line on the patient. You take a deep breath, not worrying about anything or anyone in the OR. So make the cut and dig into this never-ending story. With your hands wrist deep into the body cavity, don't let anything sway your mind. This game is all or nothing; win or lose.
