The saying ‘It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all’; is never more relevant than when talking about looked after children. As a foster mum, each and every child I looked after touched my heart in way’s I never knew other people’s children could. I can honestly say I would rather have loved and lost them; then never having had the chance to love them at all. Their stories are told through my diary, of the months or sometimes years I cared for them. Some of the children I cared for were destined to stay forever. This book contains a warts and all account of how being in care can affect different children, their families and of course their carer’s. Every word is true.
