Patrick Strickland is a journalist, author, and cofounding editor of Long Road Magazine. His first book is Alerta! Alerta! Snapshots of Europe's Anti-Fascist Struggle, published in November 2018 by AK Press. His second book, The Marauders (Melville House), published in February 2022. Publishers Weekly described it as "a fascinating and often harrowing portrait of a community in the crosshairs." He has reported from dozens of countries across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and North America. He has worked for Al Jazeera English as a senior reporter, and his articles have published at New York Review of Books, The New Republic, The Guardian, Politico EU, The Nation, Deutsche Welle, Vice News, and elsewhere. His short fiction has appeared in The Barcelona Review, The Coachella Review, Cowboy Jamboree, Pithead Chapel, and Monkey Bicycle.
