Paul Johansen, the author of Dearest Irene, is a native of Iowa. He earned advanced degrees in engineering and has been a college professor, a research laboratory manager and an entrepreneur. His published writing (including doctoral dissertation) has been technical and business related. In addition to published work, he has written several essays and short stories and a novel that will appear in 2019. He is married and the father of two children.
