Crime historian Paul Maccabee spent 13 years researching notorious bootleggers, kidnappers, bankrobbers and mob assassins to produce "John Dillinger Slept Here." Maccabee testified about his battle with the FBI over long-secret crime files before the U.S. Congress, and has been featured in three A & E Cable TV documentaries about gangsters, on the History Channel's TV documentary "Crime Wave," AHC-TV's "American Lawmen" series, CMJ's "Natural Born Outlaws" TV segments, and on the Travel Channel's TV show, "Off Limits." His book has been called "a small masterpiece of social history" by Playboy magazine.
