
Peggy D. Snyder, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist with over 35 years of clinical experience. She has worked with children, families, adults, and couples. She worked as a staff psychologist at Prairie View Hospital and Mental Health Center in Newton Kansas from 1977 until 1980. She served as consultant to the District Court in Harvey and McPherson Counties in Kansas. In 1980, she relocated to San Diego where she opened a private practice. In her private practice, Dr. Snyder continued to work with clients of all ages. Her preferred clinical orientation has been Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a specialty in Clinical Hypnosis. Peggy retired from practice in 2012 which allows her more time to pursue her passion of writing. She is an award winning playwright, and she is currently working on her first novel. Her plays have had more than thirty-five productions and have been performed in New York City, San Diego, Los Angeles, Boca Raton, Houston, San Francisco, Great Britain, Toronto, and elsewhere. She is a member of The Dramatists Guild of America, Inc., The Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights, and Scripteasers, a script development group in San Diego. In her playwriting and other fiction writing, she uses the pen name, Peggy Dougherty. Peggy's leisure activities and interests include ballroom dancing, the study of the Spanish language, and travel.
