
Penny Jackson is the award winning author of Becoming The Butlers, a novel, and L.A. Child, a collection of short stories. Becoming The Butlers was chosen as one of the best books of the year for young adults by The New York Public Library and optioned for film by Warner Brothers Studio. L.A. Child won a Pushcart Prize for one of the best stories published in a literary magazine. Penny's stories have appeared in The Edinburgh Review, The Ontario Review, StoryQuarterly, Real Fiction, and magazines in Ireland and England. Currently she is writing her novel, All Alices, based on a short story. Penny is also a playwright. Her play, Safe, was recently produced in New York City and at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Her other awards include a MacDowell Colony Fellowship, the Elizabeth Janeway Prize for fiction, and best one act play from Barnard College. Penny lives in New York City with her husband and daughter.
