The ancient Scots city of Glasgow, so calm and peaceful on the surface, had become a night-time jungle of bestial horror and screaming terror for beautiful Ardith Ross. Only a short time ago, she had been the adored star of the London stage - until a nightmare fire turned her dreams to blackened cinders. Now in this city of strangers, Ardith was haunted by a fiend from beyond the grave that only she could see...she was courted by a man she was desperately afraid to love...and she was threatened by a fate that made death seem sweet. Ardith had fled this far from the demonic force pursuing her, and now she could flee no more. She could only helplessly wait, steeling herself as best she could against evil's ultimate assault...
