"Placówka" (English translation: Outpost) is a of very famous novels written by Bolesław Prus. Prus started to write the Outpost in 1880. The first edition had been published in Wędrowiec (The Wanderer) in 1884-1885. As a book it appeared in 1886. The novel Placowka is a study about the rural Poland in 19th century. One of the classic of Polish literature.
