Polly Letson lives with her 5 naughty cats in the ancient city of Edinburgh. Although, secretly, she'd rather have a dog, as apparently house cats in a flat are even worse than snakes on a plane. Other than pondering the complexities of kelpies and avoiding The Patronii, she enjoys fine tea - and the constant hunt for the best cake in Scotland. More than anything, Polly loves writing. When she's writing, she forgets to eat and sleep, she can't even hear you when you call her name. Polly has rarely lost and argument in her life, due to her uncanny ability to empathise with every side. Scenes with conflict are her favourite to write and if she makes the reader unsure whose side to support, she feels like she's done a good job. She uses knitting as a justification to occasionally watch telly. She's always held a hankering to try taxidermy, but struggles to even touch raw chicken breast. She also wants to build an elaborate sandcastle, but has a pathological fear of sand flies, a legacy of childhood summer holidays to cold, Scottish beaches.
