The Lord intentionally offers us stories of women in Scripture in the middle of circumstances and seasons that are not bound by culture or history. The experiences of women in the Bible can be learned from in real time today. Some prayers of women are recorded in Scripture and other prayers are gleaned from circumstantial and situational shared human experiences. There is hardly a greater bond to be made among women than to recognize our sameness across time and space and go to the Lord in prayer together. We learn not just from one another, but with one another. Praying with the Women of the Bible is our opportunity to pray the prayers our sisters prayed before us, pray alongside them in life shared circumstances, and pray for one another as we sojourn together. In this study you will learn about women in Scripture, their names, their cultural and historical setting, their situation and how they prayed. With each lesson and each woman you will learn how we are so powerfully connected by longings and desires of the heart and be strengthened in boldness to bring your requests to the Lord. Praying with the women of the Bible is not just repeating prayers, it is an exercise in learning the heart posture of prayer and in turn, receiving the power that comes from praying with women of history and today.
