I am fire at its most elemental. Nothing can withstand my heat. Except her. Somehow, she’s immune to my touch, my flame. I shouldn’t want her so badly. She’s human, and I’m the next prince of the Fire Realm. Dragons and humans don’t mix. Ever. And certainly not a prince. But the dragon women don’t scorch me the way she does. They’re barely candles next to her wildfire, and I want nothing to do with them. I only want her. But can I convince not only her, but my rivals for the throne, that she’s worthy of being mated to a dragon? Because I’m running out of time to claim my mate. He kidnapped me, and now, he’s calling me his mate. Torn from all I’ve ever known and thrust into this strange new world, I’m struggling just to survive. Things would be so much easier if I could figure out why this man, who acts like he hates me, can’t seem to ever leave me alone. He’s gorgeous and rich, and oh, that smile. It makes me want to do things. Very bad things. I know I shouldn’t let myself fall for him, given how badly the last guy hurt me. But when I’m around him, I can’t focus on anything else. He commands my attention without speaking. He owns every bit of my body, yet he’s never touched it. I secretly wish he would, but maybe it’s best he doesn’t. After all, I can tell he’s hiding something. And the closer I get to his secret, the farther I am from safety. And if I give in, there’s no going back, and that might be the end of both of us.

Riley is one of those early-morning people you love to hate, because she swears she doesn't need caffeine, even though the coffee-maker is connected to her smartphone. She lives in a three-story townhouse by the good graces of a tabby-cat who rules the house, the couch, the table, well, basically everywhere. When she's not groveling for forgiveness for neglecting to pet her kitty enough, Riley is strapped in to her writing chair coming up with crazy worlds where she can make her own decisions of when feeding time is and how much coffee can be drank without her friends—of which she has three—holding yet another intervention that they threaten to post on the internet.
