Nukila Amal mendapat perhatian besar di dunia sastra Indonesia setelah menerbitkan novelnya, Cala Ibi (2003), yang masuk lima besar Khatulistiwa Literary Award. Kumpulan cerpennya, Laluba (2005), mendapat penghargaan Karya Sastra Terbaik majalah Tempo. Nukila juga meraih penghargaan Cerpen Terbaik Kompas 2008 melalui cerpennya, "Smokol." Karya terbarunya adalah buku anak Mirah Mini: Hidupmu, Keajaibanmu (2013). Pada tahun 2006 Nukila diundang sebagai peserta Iowa International Writing Program di Amerika Serikat. Ia pernah menjadi anggota Komite Sastra Dewan Kesenian Jakarta dan menerjemahkan sejumlah kumpulan puisi. Lulusan Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata Bandung ini juga mengelola bisnis roti dietetik.

Salah seorang angkatan '45 terkemuka, mula-mula terutama karena romannya "Tambera" dan cerita-cerita pendeknya yang dikumpulkan dalam "Orang-orang Sial" Tetapi ia kemudian lebih terkenal dengan lakon-lakonnya. Antonia Logue is an Irish novelist from Park, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. She grew up in Brussels, and was educated at Trinity College Dublin and Cambridge University. Her first novel, Shadow-Box, won The Irish Times Literature Award for an Irish novel and was shortlisted for the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize. She has been a faculty member in Creative Writing at Oxford University, Columbia College, and the University of Chicago, and held fellowships at St John's College Cambridge, Wolfson College Cambridge, and CRASSH (Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities) at Cambridge University. She was named one of The Observer's 21 writers for the 21st century. She is a Visiting Fellow at Oriel College, Oxford. Logue lives in Richmond, South West London with her husband and two children. Putu Wijaya, whose real name is I Gusti Ngurah Putu Wijaya, is an Indonesian author who was born in Bali on 11 April 1944. He was the youngest of eight siblings (three of them from a different father). He lived in a large housing complex with around 200 people who were all members of the same extended family, and were accustomed to reading. His father, I Gusti Ngurah Raka, was hoping for Putu to become a doctor, but Puti was weak in the natural sciences. He liked history, language and geography. Putu Wijaya has already written around 30 novels, 40 dramas, about a hundred short stories, and thousands of essays, free articles and drama criticisms. He has also produced film and soap-opera scripts. He led the Teater Mandiri theatre since 1971, and has received numerous prices for literary works and soap-opera scripts. He's short stories often appear in the columns of the daily newspapers Kompas and Sinar Harapan. His novels are often published in the magazines Kartini, Femina and Horison. As a script writer, he has two times won the Citra prize at the Indonesian Film Festival, for the movies Perawan Desa (1980) and Kembang Kertas (1985).

Kurnia Effendi, lahir di Tegal, 20 Oktober 1960. Ia menulis cerpen dan puisi untuk publik pertama kali tahun 1978, melalui majalah Gadis, Aktuil dan surat kabar Sinar Harapan, ketika masih sekolah di STM Pembangunan Semarang. Sepanjang tahun 80-an aktif mengikuti pelbagai sayembara fiksi dan puisi. Sejak itu berbagai penghargaan telah diraihnya. Ia merupakan penulis nasional yang sangat produktif. Karyanya, cerpen maupun novelet yang tak terbilang jumlahnya telah dipublikasikan oleh berbagai penerbit nasional. Bersama Donatus A. Nugroho (penulis asal Solo), Dharmawati Tst. (penulis asal Jakarta), Aan Almaidah Anwar (penulis asal Bogor), Ryana Mustamin dan Rahmat Taufik RT. (penulis asal Watampone), ia salah satu cerpenis paling gemilang di eranya karena kerap memenangi LCCR (Lomba Cipta Cerpen Remaja) Anita Cemerlang, yang kala itu menjadi barometer kehandalan seorang pengarang remaja. Kegiatan menulis dimulai di Semarang, dengan tema-tema remaja. Berlanjut di Bandung, dan akhirnya merasa matang di Jakarta, dengan memasuki wilayah sastra yang ‘serius’. Lulusan Jurusan Desain Interior, Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain ITB, tahun 1991 ini ketika masih kuliah aktif di Grup Apresiasi Sastra ITB (GAS-ITB). Tahun 1986, ia menjadi Presiden GAS, setelah Nirwan Dewanto (1984) dan M. Fadjroel Rahman (1985). Semasa mahasiswa tergabung dalam Grup Apresiasi Sastra ITB itu dan bergaul dengan Forum Sastra Bandung. Selama itu, karya-karyanya dipublikasikan berbagai media massa baik lokal maupun nasional. Pramoedya Ananta Toer was an Indonesian author of novels, short stories, essays, polemics, and histories of his homeland and its people. A well-regarded writer in the West, Pramoedya's outspoken and often politically charged writings faced censorship in his native land during the pre-reformation era. For opposing the policies of both founding president Sukarno, as well as those of its successor, the New Order regime of Suharto, he faced extrajudicial punishment. During the many years in which he suffered imprisonment and house arrest, he became a cause célèbre for advocates of freedom of expression and human rights. Carlos Fuentes Macías was a Mexican writer and one of the best-known novelists and essayists of the 20th century in the Spanish-speaking world. Fuentes influenced contemporary Latin American literature, and his works have been widely translated into English and other languages. Fuentes was born in Panama City, Panama; his parents were Mexican. Due to his father being a diplomat, during his childhood he lived in Montevideo, Rio de Janeiro, Washington, Santiago, and Buenos Aires. In his adolescence, he returned to Mexico, where he lived until 1965. He was married to film star Rita Macedo from 1959 till 1973, although he was an habitual philanderer and allegedly, his affairs - which he claimed include film actresses such as Jeanne Moreau and Jean Seberg - brought her to despair. The couple ended their relationship amid scandal when Fuentes eloped with a very pregnant and then-unknown journalist named Silvia Lemus. They were eventually married. Following in the footsteps of his parents, he also became a diplomat in 1965 and served in London, Paris (as ambassador), and other capitals. In 1978 he resigned as ambassador to France in protest over the appointment of Gustavo Diaz Ordaz, former president of Mexico, as ambassador to Spain. Dr Keith Foulcher PhD retired in February 2006 as lecturer and coordinator of the Indonesian Studies program. Before his appointment to the University of Sydney in 1996, he taught at Monash University in Melbourne and Flinders University in Adelaide.
