R.L. Shephard grew up in an orphanage, writing stories about herself taking over the world. After years of being bounced around the system because of her dark sense of humor and inherent magical powers, she settled down in a miserable little shack and discovered the internet—a place where she could easily start her plots for world domination. However, the lure of roleplaying and slash fiction, whether fandom or original, were quick and sure distractions that have kept her occupied ever since. Really, they’re the only reason the world’s still safe. That's the silly blurb I wrote for Less Than Three Press. In reality, I grew up with divorced parents, a stable school, and relatively few friends until I got to high school. I started reading fanfiction when I got into Gundam Wing, and from there was introduced both to roleplaying and slash, two addictions I've never been able to give up. Currently, I work as a greeter at a local one-stop-shopping store. Being a professional author is a huge step for me, and one I've dreamed of for years. It's still a bit of a shock to me, to be perfectly honest :3 I don't bite. I'm actually really open to being messaged and starting up discussions with people. I also love knowing that people read and (hopefully!) enjoy my work! It gives me warm fuzzy feelings, and any constructive criticism is actually listened to and taken into account! I'm always looking to improve - authors that refuse to listen to others who are trying to help them out will only wind up stagnating in style, and in the long run will probably suffer for it. At least, that's what I was taught :3
