R. S. Markel is the author and illustrator of the heartwarming Lillybeth and Hinsberth series. An insatiably curious polymath, he is a co-author of academic publications in three disciplines who rediscovered his passion for writing and illustration with the approach of his avid book-loving daughter’s sixth birthday. So enamored was she with the stories he would invent and the piles of books gathered from frequent walks to the local library that he decided to write a short story with a meaningful message to give as a special gift. After finally sitting down to write, the proverbial floodgates were released. In little more than eleven weeks he had written a 440 page novel, Lillybeth and Hinsberth: The Edges of Things. He has since written a 550 page sequel, Lillybeth and Hinsberth: The Essence of Things, and is currently writing the third Lillybeth and Hinsberth adventure.
